AH BOY CAFE 大头餐室 sits quietly along Jalan Raja Omar in Taman Tok Perdana, Sitiawan, presenting a casual cafe experience grounded in a nostalgic nod to Hong Kong-style kopitiams. This spot is not your typical coffee stop – it blends a familiar local vibe with thoughtful touches that make it appealing to families and solo visitors alike.

The interior draws attention right away with its unique signage and HK-inspired decor, evoking a sense of stepping back into a well-loved neighborhood kopitiam. A standout for parents is the small indoor playground, allowing kids to stay entertained while adults relax over their drinks and meals, making this a practical hangout for families in the area.

AH BOY CAFE’s menu focuses on comforting, homestyle dishes and drinks that respect local tastes without going over-the-top. Visitors regularly mention their well-balanced tom yum noodle soup and 5-spice chicken noodles, which come with toppings like minced meat and lemongrass chicken. The selection of breads, ranging from savory stuffed to sweet varieties like French-style toast and taro-flavored toast, adds variety to the usual cafe fare.

The drinks earn particular praise, especially for how they handle sweetness levels. Whether it’s the grass jelly or honey kumquat variations, the beverages come across as thoughtfully crafted — not overly sugary, allowing distinctive flavors to shine through. The coffee here is made with a noticeable bitterness appreciated by those who prefer a less sweet style.

The atmosphere matches the food’s straightforward appeal. The cafe is clean and comfortably casual, with enough space to settle in without feeling rushed. While most visitors come during daytime hours to enjoy a relaxed meal or afternoon tea, it also suits a laid-back breakfast or weekend brunch. Service tends to be friendly and efficient, although occasional minor distractions, like a fly, have been noted but don’t seem to detract significantly from the overall experience.

Overall, AH BOY CAFE 大头餐室 works well as a neighborhood spot for those craving familiar flavors served in a cozy, family-friendly setting. It’s especially good for local families who appreciate a place where kids can play safely indoors while adults enjoy a moment of calm over a carefully brewed cup or a bowl of expertly cooked noodles.

Unik interior and signboard attracted me to walk in. Food was nice. Teh was not too sweet. Very good. Kuih was nice too. Just soya a mini cup. The rest was good. Oh i think their taufufa is jelly pudding type not the traditional taufufa. If I'm not wrong la. Price is at middle range. Affordable.

Will definitely comeback for their drinks. They’re just good in making them. Ordered Egg Goyang, Honey Kumquat Taofufa and Kopi’o less sugar. It was very less sugar which I loved, when you can feel the bitterness of the black coffee taste. I requested to send the drink after my meal and they’re okay with it. The Taofufa tastes good and smooth. Nice sweet and sour combination with the honey kumquat. The sambal is very good and spicy. Will be a good combo if you eat with rice. It has a very kick spice and stays on your tongue. Friendly staffs and welcoming environment. Clean and very nicely designed. Looks like an old kopitiam style. Just love the seating design. Had our sweet time here with fam They even have kids room to have their time while the adults can enjoy their meal. The toilet was clean.

First try at this humble cafe with HK Style Theme even came with a small playground in the room for kids to play with while parents enjoy the food. Which I thought is very thoughtful Tried the Tom Yum Noodle & Scallion Mee with Lemon Grass chicken at the shop. 1) Tom Yum - Mee well cooked, not too soggy and came with mince meat and meatball. Soup is just nice and not over spicy. I think if there is a fuchok it will taste even nicer. 2) Scallion Noodle & Lemon Grass Chicken - Noodle very smooth and fine. Delicious and enjoyed it. Lemon Grass Chicken tasted like Satay Ayam. Which tasted good with the noodle. Would definitely enjoy coming to Ah Boy Cafe again because owner is very kind and friendly. Service is homie, food is generous and place is comfortable. Will come try the Braised Pork Noodle which is their signature on my next visit. Also they serve tau fu fah here so can always enjoy dessert here after meal.

It was my second visit. Still enjoyed the braised pork rice set. The braised pork was so well cooked and it felt like 'melting' in your mouth. The lemongrass chicken set was good too. Enjoyed the smooth toafufar and it was not too sweet. Service was fast. The clean cafe has that unique old kopitiam setting. It has a playroom for the kids while the parents enjoy their food.

Felt like stepping into mini HK restaurant! Came on a Sunday long weekend evening for dinner. Had a very unassuming bowl of simply scallion noodles that blown me away! Partner had rice was really comforting; just like a bowl of homemade rice from childhood era. Had Cham kosong ice which was perfectly kaw and mmm mmm good! Staff very warm and friendly too, kudos.
